“It is essential that all NHS Trusts put staff health and well-being at the heart of their work, with a clearly identified board-level champion and senior managerial support"
Dr. Steven Boorman: NHS Health and Well Being Final Report November 2009
We are convinced that effective occupational health should be based on a collaborative integrated approach to tackling the most common occupational health issues of Stress and Musculo-Skeletal disorders, and keeping people healthy at work. This means Occupational Health, HR, Managers, Health and Safety, Infection Control, Union Representatives and support services working together to achieve the common objective of preventing or reducing the risk of work related ill health and proactively managing long and short term sickness absence. We also believe that employees should be encouraged to take responsibility for their own health and well being so that it does not impact on their normal daily and working lives.
Because we are able to work as an integral part of our client’s team, we consistently deliver high quality proactive occupational health to our large NHS client list which includes: Acute and Specialist Hospitals, Primary Care and Partnership Trusts, Mental Health Trusts and Ambulance Trusts. We measure our success and are committed to being able to demonstrate to our clients the return on their investment in occupational health, through an improvement in the overall health picture within the organisation and a reduction in the number of days lost through absence. All our services are fully compliant with the requirements of Department of Health Employers POSHH standards. We are also confident that our services comply with the Draft Standards for Safe Effective Quality Occupational Health Services issued by the Faculty of Occupational Medicine.
All Team Prevent centres operate through a bespoke occupational health software programme which continually measures and monitors our performance as an occupational health provider and enables us to provide our clients with extremely useful management information on departmental activity, peaks and troughs in workload, the occupational health issues affecting the organisation and any patterns or trends in work related health issues. Referrals and reports are all sent electronically and we are working towards a completely paperless system.
