Team Prevent works with its NHS clients around the country to encourage optimum uptake of the seasonal flu vaccinations amongst health care workers and to urge them to protect their own health and the health of those they care for.  Making the vaccinations easily accessible is a key priority and we are achieving this by undertaking ‘ward and departmental walkabouts’, running regular seasonal flu vaccinations clinics throughout the day at main thoroughfares and in the occupational health department, and offering flexible hours to cover night workers.
As front line health care workers are always likely to be in the priority groups for vaccinations in the event of a Pandemic, we have robust pandemic plans in place for the continuity of the occupational health service and to support each client’s individual and specific requirements.  We are able to call upon appropriately qualified bank staff to support our teams with mass vaccination programmes.
