Our Screening Nurses support the Occupational Health Team in delivering proactive Health Screening and Health Surveillance for client organisations. They will assist in managing, providing and developing occupational health services in line with Team Prevent standards, evidence based Occupational Health Practices and legislative requirements. They will work as an integral part of the Occupational Health team and make an important contribution towards development of the service and process improvement.

We are looking for an experience screening nurse to join us at an exciting time with this client as we help to shape and develop their occupational health service.

This role is a fixed-term nine month contract to work on a specific project for the Trust.

Responsibilities and tasks include:

  • Undertaking a paper assessment of immunisation history to identify gaps
  • Advise on appropriate next steps whether blood tests or booster vaccinations
  • Administering appropriate immunisations and vaccines at required time and following appropriate clinical practice and Green Book guidance
  • Undertaking blood tests as and when required for the appropriate purpose and carry out follow up action as necessary

To apply you must:

  • Have undergone training and be competent in immunisation
  • Have recent experience in immunisation and vaccination programme management
  • Have undergone venepuncture training and be competent in phlebotomy with recent experience
  • Be a Registered Nurse (Adult) on part 1 or 2 of the NMC register
  • Be aware of health and safety legislation and health surveillance requirements under COSHH
  • Have good IT skills; experience with eOpas an advantage
  • Participate in relevant training to maintain and develop clinical and managerial practices, taking responsibility for own personal and professional development
