Location: Brighton, Eastbourne, Lewes and Home Working

Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience

Hours:

  • Two days at Brighton Council (Monday and Thursday preferably) undertaking face-to-face and telephone sick absence management.
  • Friday’s at East Sussex Council alternating between Eastbourne and Lewes undertaking face-to-face and telephone sick absence management.
  • Two days a week will be telephone based sick absence management work covering several contracts. There may be a requirement for other on-site work within the local geography to be undertaken on these days depending on business needs.

The Role:

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate, detailed and appropriate clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment to clients on a face-to-face or remote basis
  • Provide a concise and precise report to management indicating an employee’s fitness to work and detailing any adjustments with timeframes
  • Identify, assess and advise on any workplace hazards or contributing factors to Musculoskeletal disease
  • Conduct workplace assessments such as DSE/Vehicle assessments as and when required and provide advice and recommendations as appropriate
  • Maintain clinical objectivity and impartiality at all times in line with occupational health guidance
  • Deliver effective evidence-based rehabilitation that adheres to national clinical standards
  • Utilise a bio-psychosocial approach combined with functional assessment to address barriers to work and inform robust work recommendations
  • Complete comprehensive assessment and treatment records in line with company policy and national guidelines
  • Contribute to the wider health and wellbeing national initiative by utilising a holistic approach and working closely with the health trainer team  to promote healthy lifestyles
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the clinical support team and admin team to ensure optimal case management

 

General Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Maintain continuous professional development (CPD) through reflection, participating in 1:1’s, clinical supervision, team meetings and any other relevant CPD activity
  • Maintain excellent communication in a timely manner and proactively engage with client’s, HR, operational management and colleagues
  • Liaise regularly with your line manager and escalate any complex cases as appropriate
  • Be aware and work within any agreed Key Performance Indicators and notify management if unable to do so
  • Prioritise work with effective time management to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and within set timescales/KPI’s
  • Work pro-actively taking initiative and responsibility at your site of work
  • Actively contribute to the overall effectiveness and development of the clinical service
  • Awareness of relevant legislation. Be aware of responsibilities placed upon you under the Health & Safety at Work Act (1974) and ensure that agreed safety procedures are carried out to maintain a safe environment for all
  • To undertake any other duties compatible with the grading of the post, as required

 

Requirements & Skills

  • Experienced at sick absence management
  • Ability to undertake 6 or 7 cases a day
  • Happy to work on their own but have access to support remotely
  • Be able to drive
  • OHA and qualified
  • Ideally have immunisations experience (as this may be required within this geography) but not essential
  • Council sick absence management experience preferred but not essential
